Lessons learned

Yesterday was basically a non quilt day for me. We had to take hubby to the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. That took up the majority of day as it is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way and you have to walk all over the compound to get everything done.
Course yours truly fought her asthma because all the vets (or so it seems) are smokers and you have to walk through their smoke to get in the building and then deal with the smoke clinging to everyone's clothes once inside. Made for a long day for me.
It was not a waste though. Once home I figured out what I was doing wrong on the chevrons for Celtic Soltice by Bonnie Hunter. I was not sowing beside the line so when you folded the fabric over it laid on top of the line of stitching. When you sew it directly on the line or the far side it causes your blocks to come out wonky, skewed to one side or the other. So, today is sewing and laundry day! Yah!
